Our commitment to social responsibility
FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION
We cooperate with the Fair Wear Foundation (www.fairwear.org), an independent non-profit organisation based in Amsterdam, which aims to improve working conditions in the textile industry worldwide.
We’ve been a member of the foundation since 2011 and have committed ourselves to meeting the requirements of the FWF in full and in a fully transparent manner that can be monitored at all times. This collaboration highlights our sense of responsibility towards our production facilities and, above all, their employees. We also consistently and unequivocally stand up for fair working conditions to be able to guarantee our customers that all our products are manufactured in accordance with humanitarian standards and without exploiting children or minorities.
The Partnership for Sustainable Textiles is a multi-stakeholder initiative bringing together some 150 members from industry, politics, the general public, trade unions and standards organisations. GONSO as part of Maier Sports GmbH as well as all other members want to improve the conditions in global textile production as a broad alliance – from raw material production to disposal. The Textile Partnership was founded in October 2014 in response to tragic accidents in textile factories in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
AKTIONfahrRAD is an initiative that develops campaigns in cooperation with partners in order to put young people on the saddle in sustainable ways. It supports the next generation, makes bikes available to schools, is involved in school and university projects and supports the training and further education of teachers nationwide to make cycling more attractive and safer. Cycling is the perfect form of mobility. It’s good for our health and the environment, it’s efficient and it’s fun!
Tour Ginkgo is an annual charity ride organised by the Christiane Eichenhofer Foundation in support of the most vulnerable in society: seriously ill children. Any family can be affected. Reason enough for the foundation to have been organising the annual Tour Ginkgo in order to collect donations for children in need for more than 25 years.
We at Gonso have been involved in Tour Ginkgo since 1996. As part of our commitment, we provide a set consisting of a jersey and shorts to each starter. But we don’t just sponsor the outfits. We also join the event with a team of colleagues who pedal for a good cause year after year!
